Marco Rubio has made a recent fool of himself with a tweet where he complained about the defense secretary wearing a mask in the Philippines. The tweet says quote
“Our @SecDef is vaccinated
But he arrives in the Philippines wearing a mask AND a face shield
Embarrassing COVID theatre”
The problem is that it’s now Philippines law around a mask mandate. I think if you go to a country and want to represent it well then you should ideally follow the laws of that country.
The Philippines has committed a tragic crime by caring about its citizens in lowering mask mandates. On my Tik Tok @ukuspolitics when I posted this story from CNN about Rubio’s claims people came to my comment section saying things like it’s oppressive and that COVID isn’t a serious threat the flu kills more people now.
I hate to say it but do you know what stops killing people from the flu lowering transmission? MASKS, it’s a well-known fact that if you wear it transmission goes down. I remember one clip of a Republican wearing a mask trying to prove it ineffective, by bringing a flame to her face blowing it out (, unless you are kissing everyone you talk to this would count.) She then proceeded to place the mask under a water faucet on full blast drenching the mask (if you projectile shower-like power from your mouth goes see a doctor.
What is the point behind this?
Republicans like Rubio claim masks are ineffective and pointless and COVID is no longer a threat. The guy is from the state that now has the title “COVID Eprisenter” as it is a literal cluster of unvaccinated, mask-hating, sick people. Trump, DeSantis, Rubio were all hesitant and pushed against vaccines and masks and all represent Florida. If I were a Floridian I would be embarrassed.
What is the resolution?
As I state in the title #RetireRubio and #VoteVal. Val Demmings is a very dedicated Democrat, a police officer calling out the Republicans when they “support the police when it is politically convenient to do so.” This is clear from the January 6th Commission when the true patriots defending the Capitol from terrorists, were abused by the Right-Wing media and congressional Republicans.
