Well, when we believed our freedom had finally come and the mandates and other requirements had finished WE WERE WRONG! The frenzy known as the “Delta Variant” was bestowed as our next biggest problem to start masking up again.
First off there is no good reason that we need to mask up again. Even from the CDC’s own statistics, 99% of all hospitalizations and deaths from Covid-19 are from unvaccinated individuals. And keep in mind that the recommendations before this suggested that only VACCINATED individuals should no longer have to wear a mask. This was a completely logical step in the evolution of reopening up not only my state but the nation as a whole. Now with current trends of covid cases ticking upward why are we all of a sudden freaking out this time? We had lockdowns, we had mask mandates, we had a complete shutdown of our society for months. And that still didn’t stop the spread. Why does any reasonable person think that going back to doing that is going to do any good? Why would any reasonable person think that doing what we did to stop the spread the first time is going to work again. In the words of House of Commons Representative Theresa May, “there never will be a time where there will be no covid-19 cases here in the UK” 

Which is exactly the point. Why do we have to spend our lives again on this? It’s becoming more and more of a control device than a true means of allowing the average everyday person to continue on with their lives. Why should we up-end our well-being and our way of life for something that the common person is not deadly or causes massive harm to themselves, or putting them in the hospital? Why were we told, “get the vaccine and the restrictions will go away?” Then why are we now punishing the people who got vaccinated? We are right back to square one to where we started. This really should and I hope pisses people off. The restrictions have become a bargaining tool for politicians and the health departments alike. Which has become the problem. 

The solution to all of these problems is a simple one. Reopen the borders and reopen our society. No restrictions no more mandates. Allow individuals to take individual responsibility for their own actions and behaviors for all intents and purposes. This shouldn’t be that hard of a concept for reasonable to grasp. You are responsible for yourself and if you are afraid to leave your home and you don’t want to put yourself at risk that is completely and 100% on you and no one else should have to comply with living as you do.
