On November 8th, 2022, New Hampshire will hold their election for one of its two United States Senate seats. The incumbent, Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH), has already declared her bid for the seat in 2022. On the Republican side Donald C. Bolduc (R-NH), a candidate for the 2020 Senate seat in NH, and a former US Army special forces Brigadier General, has already declared to run for the Republican nomination. Incumbent Governor of New Hampshire Chris Sununu (R-NH) has publicly expressed interest but has not made any public, formal statement on whether he is running or not. Former US Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) has the potential to run after she was voted out and replaced by Incumbent Senator Maggie Hassan in 2016, she lost the popular vote by .14%.

The only endorsement so far out of all the candidates is for Maggie Hassan, who has been endorsed by Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris (D-CA). The Cook Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball have this race as a lean Democrat win and Inside Elections this as a Battleground race. In the polls released between Maggie Hassan and Don Bolduc, Maggie Hassan leads by 10-13%. In polls between Maggie Hassan and Chris Sununu, Chris Sununu leads by 1-6%. And in polls between Maggie Hassan and Kelly Ayotte, Maggie Hassan leads by 4-5%. So, as we have seen, the only Republican candidate to lead Maggie Hassan in the polls is Incumbent New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, so does this mean if Chris Sununu runs, the Republicans have a good chance of flipping this Senate seat?
